Individual Coaching/Mentoring for Teacher's Denied Tenure©
After sitting in on selected classes of a teacher denied tenure, a PCM associate who is a former principal meets with the teacher and shares immediate "off the record" feedback. In a supportive and professional environment the facilitator provides specific and practical tips and strategies to assist the teacher in reaching the goals outlined in their Professional Development Plan (PDP). A written summary of the coaching/mentoring session can be provided if requested.
Working Collaboratively to Create a High Performing Classroom Environment©
A successful school is a team effort. During this series of three (3) to (10) customized on-site workshops a PCM facilitator works closely with instructional, school safety and security, and guidance staff to design and deliver integrated workshops which address the unique challenges currently faced by the school. The goals and objectives of each workshop, the selected attendees, and the agendas are continually revisited and revised to address the immediate needs of the school team. Topics covered, skills learned and practiced, and strategies developed reflect best practices honed in urban schools throughout the country.

Team Up to Teach for the Future: Developing Professional Learning Communities©
Research shows teachers spend an average of 93% of their time working in isolation from their colleagues. Surveys also show a majority of teachers feel the most powerful forms of staff development occur in ongoing teams which meet regularly for the purposes of learning, joint lesson planning, and problem solving. These teams, often called Learning Communities or Communities of Practice, operate with a commitment to continuous improvement and experimentation. This workshop is designed for school administrators and/or teacher-leaders interested in creating high performing Professional Learning Communities in their schools. During the workshop participants explore critical elements of professional development, create a field of listening, explore the effects of individual differences on group dynamics, and establish protocols for professional learning.
Creating a Safe and Successful Learning Environment: A Comprehensive Team Approach©
Have you spent too much time "putting out fires"? Are you pulled in a thousand different directions as you run from crisis to crisis? This research based and field tested program is a collaborative school-wide proactive approach to creating a safe and secure learning environment where the focus of the day is student achievement. This program is tailored to address the unique challenges of each school and incorporates the findings and direction of the school Quality Review, Progress Report, and Learning Environment Survey. Emphasis is placed on the prevention of problem behaviors, development of social/emotional skills, and the use of data-based problem solving to address existing behavior concerns. The program is divided into 5 Phases: Phase 1: Establish a Learning Environment Team to take ownership of developing, promoting, and evaluating the program; Phase 2: Support the Learning Environment Team as it collaboratively creates a comprehensive initiative sustainable over time; Phase 3: Create a system for monitoring progress; Phase 4: Identify and provide targeted training to students and staff; Phase 5: Share results and expectations with all stakeholders.
Collaboratively Tackling the Tough Challenges: Teambuilding and Planning Retreat©
You and key staff members have some solid ideas about how to address the challenges raised in your Quality Review but there is little time during the school week to bring this diverse group together. During this highly interactive retreat involved stakeholders have the opportunity to work in a supportive and focused environment to maximize the power of their diversity and problem solve. Under the guidance of a PCM facilitator the group spends one Friday evening and a Saturday productively analyzing specific challenges, brainstorming workable solutions, and creating detailed Action Plans. In preparation for the retreat the PCM facilitator meets with the principal and selected participants at the school to customize an agenda for the retreat.

A customized needs assessment assists school leaders as they target challenges which need to be addressed. This workshop teaches the components of an effective needs assessment and how to interpret the resulting data. PCM associates are also available to conduct on-site needs assessments utilizing surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other strategic planning tools.
